I've been observing the creek by my house for my English AP class. I was upset when I noticed the water levels were lowering. The sun burned my back as I watched the water and it looked sad because it craved rain. The water only stirred in sections and I could only hear the slight gurgles that the water made. Water is one of the most important building blocks of life. The ducks swam in the parts of the creek with the most water. The tops of the rocks turned white because their blanket of water was no longer warming them. I walked further up stream where there was more water and I found that there were more living things in those areas. They adapted to the lack of water down stream and moved to a different location.

Wildlife adapt to situations, like lack of water. I later researched how birds usually adapt to drought and I was very intrigued about what I found. I found that birds usually migrate when there is a lack of food, water or a shelter and I'm still puzzled by the fact they've stayed here for so long.
Droughts are ways of life and obstacles we all have to get through , it sucks that others have to suffer because of it like ducks and other animals living in or around water.
ReplyDeleteI love how you describe every detail of your observation. "...It looked sad because it craved rain." I really liked this because you are putting voice into the project which is great!
ReplyDeleteIt sucks that we see problems like this and feel helpless. I know that when I see animals struggling it makes me feel miserable.
ReplyDeleteThe rain really does a lot of changes at nature.I wish there was more rain , life would be easier and more better as with that creek.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the fact that water is one of the most important building blocks of life, but sometimes we have to face these obstacles. I feel bad for the ducks, but I feel bad for us as well.
