Beauty Close to Home

I've been observing the creek by my house for my English AP class and I was very impressed by how much beauty was so close to home. I had always taken it for granted but since I've been observing I've been seeing the  beauty in everything. I could hear the water flow, bees buzz, and birds sing, making the perfect melody. I never actually listened so closely to something so simple before; it was calming and peaceful and sounded like the ocean in a seashell. The wind, unseen, whistled a tune in my ears. It messed up my hair so perfectly. The wind attacked the trees and wrestled them, making a swaying sound as the leaves peacefully shed off, hitting the ground softly. The birds, like a choir, rehearsed the same song while the noisy gurgles of the water surrounded them.

Beauty doesn't necessarily have to be seen; there's beauty in the sense of hearing as well. If you just close your eyes you can become a part of nature, see the aspects of beauty with your ears.

  1. Your description is beautiful. I really loved the part with the wrestling wind and peaceful leaves. There is beauty in everything you just have to look for it.

  3. I agree with how there are different forms of beauty there are many different types of sounds and species that play a role into how everything comes together.

  4. I can relate to how you say that there is beauty in the out doors extremely close by but we don't pay much attention to it until we actually sit down and observe. Almost the exact same thing happened to me when I began to observe. I used to simply go outside with out really paying attention to nature's beauty but thought about where I was going instead now that is slowly changing and I'm beginning to distinguish the beauty in nature. I absolutely admired when you mentioned "See the aspects of beauty with your ears," because beauty isn't just looks but what it speaks like the birds chirping as you mentioned.

  5. I believe that the most beautiful sound you can hear in nature is the birds. to them their chirping is simple conversation with one another. to us it is a synchronized, harmonious and musical display that perfectly coincides with mother natures other sounds.
